World Harvest
As Indonesia’s poverty reduction remains a challenge. 110 million people (53% of the population) still live on less than $ 2 a day, and remain vulnerable to falling back into severe poverty (World Bank, Country Assistance Strategy FY 2004-2007). World harvest aims to work for sustainable transformation of the country through community development. Our goal is to build self supporting communities. We are aware that it will take years full of challenges to transform communities into self supporting and well to do communities. However, to ensure the transformation progress, World Harvest has committed to serve the community within a seven year transformation concept. It does not necessarily mean that the transformation process will be achieved and the service will be ended in seven years. However, we use the time frame to organize and maximize what we are doing. We work our best to achieve our target that are segmented into three phases:
Relief
Providing emergency aids for natural disasters survivors and people in conflict areas, including self provision program.
Recovery
Providing medical services, granting scholarship for at risk students in poor communities, building facilities and infrastructures (building roads, providing clean water), job training and others.
Empowerment
Building community transformation centers (CTC) as centers for community transformation; giving moral encouragement and continue to educate the communities.
These services will be accustomed with the need of each community
